mAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for IT support, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently to minimize disruption for all users across Liverpool and remote locations.

  • Create and manage support tickets, maintaining a clear system for tracking and resolving IT issues.

  • Proactively monitor, prioritize, and manage support tickets with a 'security first' approach, ensuring adherence to best practices.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software, hardware, and network issues, including installation and maintenance as needed.

  • Ensure the security of user workstations, servers, and data storage through proactive monitoring, best practices, and robust security measures.

  • Monitor the organisation's IT security and resolve vulnerabilities promptly.

  • Manage and maintain all company email accounts and their backup.

  • Manage and maintain all company data backup both locally and remote including video game production version control software.

  • Regularly analyze and optimize company technologies, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to improve performance, security, and reliability.

  • Transport and configure hardware such as computers, monitors, and peripherals within the Liverpool area. When necessary, manage logistics for hardware and IT equipment across the UK and EU.

  • Build cost-effective PC workstations from bespoke hardware components, adhering to internal budgets.

  • Configure and test all workstations and laptops for new employees and freelancers (both PC & Mac).

  • Collaborate with in-house developers to ensure seamless integration, accessibility, and security of 3rd-party development tools.

  • Configure and maintain company speciality AV equipment.

  • Audit and maintain an accurate internal asset tracking system for all company hardware and software.

  • Manage and ensure the reliability of company web domains and hosting.

  • Configure, support, and maintain the organisation's existing network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, routers, CCTV, cabling, and wireless network equipment.

  • Develop and enforce company IT policies, ensuring adherence to security and operational standards.

  • Manage and regularly test robust data backup and disaster recovery processes.

  • Induct and onboard all new employees and freelancers with the organisation's IT infrastructure and policies.


wHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

EXPERIENCE:

  • A higher education qualification in an IT-related subject.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in IT roles, including at least 2 years managing IT systems independently or in a leadership capacity.

  • Knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, PC and Mac hardware components, peripherals, as well as Mobiles and Tablets (Android and iOS).

  • Experience in rolling out significant IT projects

  • Practical experience with internet and network security protocols.

  • Familiarity with remote management tools.

  • Able to build PC workstations from components.

  • A common interest in IT and new innovative technologies.

  • Experience of working or supporting clients in the creative or digital industry is a plus, but not a necessity.

  • Have a valid UK driving license.

PERSONAL:

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and minimal need for supervision.

  • Exhibits a strong sense of responsibility and dependability, contributing to the overall safety and security of the IT infrastructure.

  • Works effectively in a team environment, maintaining a high level of internal customer service.

  • Proficient in translating complex technical concepts into clear, understandable language for individuals without a technical background.

  • Exceptional organisational skills, coupled with the ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks efficiently.

  • Ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate documentation and job notes.

  • Keen to learn and develop your skills further.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • An interest in Video Games is a plus, but not a necessity.

  • Hybrid working schedule – working 3 days per week in the office and 2 from home.
